Aggregates are used in many applications, including ready-mixed and precast concrete, asphalt, and as a base material for street and road construction. Aggregates are fragments of rock measuring 0.08 to 80 millimeters in diameter. Extracted from quarries, crushed, and then calibrated, aggregates appear in a range of products, including gravel, broken gravel and sand.
Highways, national roads and regional networks are keys to a country's development and its population's well-being. With a network of established resources and knowledgeable staff, we are able to offer not only hot-mix asphalt production, but also full scale road building and construction services using both asphalt and concrete, serving both public and private infrastructure projects.
Cement is a fine powder that is the principal strength-giving and property-controlling component of concrete. A mixture of cement, aggregates and water hardens to form concrete which is used for everything from sidewalks, homes, roads, bridges, dams and skyscrapers. Cement is used in virtually all forms of construction. It is a key ingredient in the development of concrete, which is second only to water as the most consumed substance on Earth, with almost one ton of it being used for each human every year.
Every day we have opportunities to reduce our carbon footprint—and help create a better world. We believe cement can help do that, too. Learn more about how Envirocore™ Cements help reduce CO2.
Concrete is the most widely used construction material in the world with more than six billion tons produced each year. Reliable, energy-efficient and environmentally-conscious, the versatility of concrete is evident in the fact that it can be formed into almost any shape when newly mixed yet durable once set times are reached. Concrete is used in many applications such as highways, wall panels, beams and homes. Larger scale infrastructure applications like dams, nuclear energy plants, and water and sewage pipes make concrete indispensable for modern societies.
ECOPact, the Green Concrete, is sold at a range of low-carbon levels, from 30% to 100% less carbon emissions compared to standard (CEM I) concrete. Where regulatory conditions allow, ECOPact products integrate upcycled construction and demolition materials, further closing the resource loop.
