Michael Nixon, appointed as Vice President of Manufacturing North, is responsible for US cement manufacturing operations across six cement plants based in the northern region, spanning Missouri to New York. With more than 20 years of manufacturing experience at LafargeHolcim, Mr. Nixon sits on the US Cement Executive Committee.
Most recently, he served as Plant Manager at the Alpena cement plant in Michigan. During this time, he effectively managed production of two million tons per year supplying a diverse network of Great Lakes cement terminals. Prior to Alpena, he was Plant Manager at Devil’s Slide facility in Utah.
In addition to field operations roles, Mr. Nixon was Director of Environment and Governmental Affairs from 2013 to 2015. His responsibilities involved cement operations environmental compliance, demolition and environmental remediation, and advocating for regulatory and legislative developments. He started his career at LafargeHolcim in 1997 as a Process Engineer at Ada cement plant in Oklahoma.
Mr. Nixon earned a Bachelor degree in chemical engineering from the University of Oklahoma in Norman and holds a Master’s of business administration from the University of Missouri, St. Louis.
