Luis Cuellar is Director of Health & Safety for US Cement at LafargeHolcim. In this role, he oversees 12 employees who support all cement plants and terminals across the United States. He reports to the CEO and is part of the executive committee.
Since joining Lafarge in 2004, Mr. Cuellar has held numerous positions across the organization in multiple geographic locations. Prior to his current role, he served as US Cement Director of Supply Chain Terminal Operations based in Chicago, Director of Projects & Strategy in Brazil. He also was the US East Director of Business Development and Operations Manager in Atlanta.
Prior to LafargeHolcim, Mr. Cuellar spent five years at Siemens VDO Automotive in Mexico and Germany from 1997 to 2002 where he served as project manager and manufacturing planner.
A native citizen of Bolivia, Mr. Cuellar received his Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering in Monterrey, Mexico from Instituto Technologico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (ITESM) in 1997. He also earned a Master of Business Administration from Yale School of Management in 2004. Mr. Cuellar has also participated in corporate leadership programs at INSEAD University in France and Duke University in North Carolina.
