LafargeHolcim Announces Leadership Changes to Further Strengthen US Organization

Chicago, IL – March 27, 2018 – Today, the LafargeHolcim organization in the United States announced the promotion of two executives, Michael LeMonds and Chad Cornwell.  With the addition of these two leaders to the US cement and Aggregates Construction Material (ACM) teams, the company is positioned to achieve our business objectives and demonstrates the company’s commitment to investing in its people to ensure a management team prepared for long-term success.  

Michael LeMonds assumes the role of Vice President of Land, Environment and Government Affairs for the United States. LeMonds has been with LafargeHolcim for more than 15 years, serving in a variety of leadership positions throughout his tenure, including instituting business development improvements across Canada and the United States. LeMonds holds numerous leadership positions in national trade associations including the National Ready-Mix Concrete Association, Portland Cement Association and the National Stone Sand and Gravel Association.

LeMonds attended executive education programs at the Harvard University Graduate School of Business, the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business, was a Graduate Fellow at the Michigan State University Institute for Public Policy and Social Research and holds a Bachelor of Arts from Albion College.

Chad Cornwell has been named Director of ACM Aggregate and Asphalt Performance, and will oversee the Performance, Geology and Mining Teams for US ACM. Cornwell has held a variety of leadership roles within the aggregate industry from Project Manager to Director of Operations. He began his career with LafargeHolcim as a performance manager in 2013.

Cornwell graduated from the University of Missouri at Rolla with a Bachelor of Science degree in mining engineering with an emphasis in Aggregates. He has completed several leadership and management courses and has received numerous awards including the LafargeHolcim US Aggregates “Performance Leadership” in 2016 and "Excellence in Safety Leadership" in 2014.

Both Mr. LeMonds and Mr. Cornwell will be based in the US headquarters in Chicago, Illinois.
