Sustainable construction is a growing concern for all stakeholders, from state governments with major highway projects to parking lots for grocery chains. We look at the concept of sustainability in three ways: lifecycle, reduction and innovation. Lifecycle is about products that last longer and are resilient and durable. Reduction refers to our efforts decreasing our footprint and our impact on the environment. We take an innovative approach that bring the two – lifecycle and reduction – together.
We are committed to preserving the needs of future generations by maximizing our energy efficiency and conserving non-renewable resources. We take our leadership as an environmental steward very seriously. It’s important to look at sustainability over the lifecycle to minimize our impact over the long haul. We have the flexibility to safely use alternative fuels and raw materials, such as scrap tires. That means we help keep those materials out of landfills, consume fewer natural raw materials and reduce our dependence on fossil fuels.
